Inclusive Durga Puja: Bengal Leads the Way in Bengaluru
Bengaluru’s Durga Puja celebrations have taken a significant step towards inclusivity, thanks to Jagriti Dham, a luxurious elder care living facility from Kolkata. This initiative of the Infinity Group has successfully partnered with some of Bengaluru’s largest Durga Puja associations to ensure senior citizens can fully participate in the festivities.
With approximately 1.5 million Bengalis residing in Karnataka, over 200 Durga Puja pandals were set up across the city. Jagriti Dham took the lead in establishing dedicated stalls, pavilions, and helpline numbers tailored for seniors at multiple pandals. This thoughtful approach enabled elderly visitors to navigate the celebrations comfortably.
One of Jagriti Dham’s key collaborations was with the R.T. Nagar Socio-Cultural Trust (RTNS), whose pandal at Palace Grounds drew nearly 100,000 visitors daily. At this venue, Jagriti Dham hosted a senior citizen pavilion featuring selfie zones, “adda” corners for engaging conversations, and game zones. This dedicated space allowed elderly attendees to relax, socialize, and enjoy the Durga Puja experience in comfort.
Jagriti Dham also partnered with the East Bengaluru Cultural Association Durga Puja, often referred to as the “Maddox Square of Bengaluru.” Here, the organization played a pivotal role in organizing special events, including the Battle of Dhakis on Navami and a Citizenship Award recognizing individuals for their exceptional contributions to society.
Additionally, Jagriti Dham collaborated with Sri Manjunatha Swamy Kalyana Mantapa in Whitefield to promote happy and healthy aging. Dedicated efforts ensured the well-being of seniors during the festivities. Furthermore, Prestige Park View, an RWA in Whitefield, partnered with Jagriti Dham to raise awareness about elder care.
