MORE THAN ONE CRORE PASSENGERS AVAILED SUBURBAN SERVICES IN SEALDAH DIVISION DURING PUJA DAYS

Kolkata, the mega city which is a hub for Puja Pandal hoppers which can be best accessed by the suburban trains of Eastern Railway. During the Puja days Eastern Railway has ran additional suburban EMU services to cater to the passengers so that the Puja Pandal hoppers can comfortably reached their destination. The passengers have widely patronised the suburban Railway network for commuting from one station to other to reach their destination.

In Sealdah Division, starting from Panchami to Dashami (8.10.2024 to 12.10.2024), Sealdah division has carried over 1 crore of suburban passengers compared to 95.36 lakhs of passengers carried during the corresponding period of previous year, thus recording a 5.16% increase in suburban passengers over Sealdah division this year during Puja days.

On an average, 20 lakhs of passengers per day have been carried during the Puja days over Sealdah division which clearly indicates that Sealdah division has efficiently managed a passenger influx which is almost double than the normal by running additional Puja special EMU trains during this year.

Additional Supervisors, RPF Personnel were deployed at important stations over Sealdah division closely monitored by senior officials under the leadership of Shri Deepak Nigam, Divisional Railway Manager/Sealdah to manage the Puja rush.

May I Help You Booth, medical team etc. were also kept ready to assist the passengers in case of requirement for the same.
