PRECUATIONARY MESURES TAKEN BY SEALDAH DIVISION IN VIEW OF CYCLONE ‘DANA’
Kolkata, October 22, 2024:
In view of the approaching Cyclonic Storm ‘Dana’ , Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division having rail network near coastal areas has taken all precautionary mesures to contral the effect of resultant rain & storm.
Measures to be taken to combat the Cyclone Dana:-
01) Emergency control to be manned by officers from 24.10.2024 to 25.10.2024.
02) To combat the possible water logging. Pumps are bring installed at all critical places.
03) Public Announcements at all stations to keep commuters informed in case of any disruption in service.
04) Plastic sheets are bring arranged in case severe storm damages platform sheds & sheds at concourse area.
05) DG sets and emergency light are bring arranged in all big stations – specially at Sealdah and Kolkata.
06) Tower wagons has been kept ready with proper manpower so as to move them in case of any possible overhead wire problem.
07) Critical locations, viz., Namkhana, Diamond harbor, Hasnabad etc. manned with adequate Engineering and Signal & Telecom staff to combat crisis situation.
08) Security personnel deployment round the clock throughout the division.
09) Drivers on move are best informers and hence they are bring sensitized to remain on highest alert.
10) Stabling of rake with precautions to avoid adverse repercussion of cyclonic storm.
11) Diesel locos alongwith drivers will be stationed at key locations like Sealdah, Dumdum, Barasat, Naihati, Ranaghat etc. by 24th Oct.
12) Advertisement boards and hoardings placed at different stations will be removed to prevent potential danger during cyclonic storm.
All branch officers and employees are on highest alert, to chalk out proper restoration plan and execute the same by expert trained teams in case of any eventuality.
