Mega Indian Air Force and Uttarakhand War Memorial Car Rally Arrives at Hasimara
Hasimara, 22 Oct: The Mega Indian Air Force (IAF) and Uttarakhand War Memorial (UWM) car rally made a grand arrival at Hasimara on 22nd October. In a moving ceremony, the rally team, along with Station personnel and students of Air Force School Bagdogra, participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ project. The event was flagged off by Air Officer Commanding, Air Commodore Manish V Patel, VM.
Commemorating the silver jubilee of Kargil victory, the rally team, on 21st October, inspired students from various schools, encouraging them to carry forward the spirit of resilience and national pride. The rally was flagged in at Hasimara by Air Commodore Ashish Sharma, VM, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Hasimara, in the presence of Station personnel.
This Mega rally was officially flagged off on 8th October from Thoise Air Base and is scheduled to conclude on 29th October at Tawang ALG, Arunachal Pradesh. The team will now travel through Guwahati, Tezpur, and Dirang before reaching the heights of Tawang.
On 24th October, the rally team plans to visit Guwahati University for an interactive session with students. The visit aims to foster motivation and engagement with the younger generation.
Upon their arrival at Hasimara, the team visited the War Memorial inside the Station to pay tribute to the bravehearts.
The “Vayu Veer Vijeta” rally, from Thoise to Tawang, continues to inspire youth through various interactions during its halts. The rally’s primary objective is to motivate the youth of India to join the Armed Forces.
