HISTORY CREATED: NEW RECORD OF CHHATH SPECIALS FROM EASTERN RAILWAY

A record number of Chhath special trains are being originated from Eastern Railway this year. These trains will facilitate comfortable movement of intending passengers to various directions to unite with their family members to enjoy the Chhath festival. 

Keeping in mind & to cater to the transport needs of underprivileged people, maximum number of Unreserved special trains have been run. A total of around 340 trips with about 50 special trains to various directions are being originating from Eastern Railway stations connecting every corner of the country. 

From Howrah station huge number of Chhath special trains originates almost every day from 8 a.m. in the morning up to midnight. 48 trips of special trains have been arranged from Howrah station exclusively for Chhath festival. These special trains also have General Second Class & Sleeper Class accommodation to cater to the need of common passengers. Besides the regular trains like Poorva Express, Howrah – Patna Janshatabdi Express, Shaktipunj Express, Doon Express, Mithila Express, Raxaul Express which have occupancy of over 100% in reserved coaches, these Chhath special trains from Howrah connects the major destinations like Raxaul, Khatipura, Patna, Lalkuan, Haridwar, Delhi, Jammu Tawi etc.

Similarly, from Sealdah station also there are similar number of trains i.e. 48 trips to various directions like Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Vadodara, Jaynagar, Darbhanga etc.

From Kolkata station, 24 trips of special trains are being originating to popular destinations like Patna, Jammu Tawi, Gorakhpur, Mau, Saharsa, Ludhiana etc.

From Asansol also 28 trips of special trains are being originating mainly for Patna, Anand Vihar Terminus, Katihar, Nautanva, CSMT Mumbai.

From Malda Town station, 51 trips of special trains are being originating to various directions like Anand Vihar Terminus, Udhna, New Delhi, Patna, Bhatinda stations.

Also 62 trips of special trains are being originating from Bhagalpur & 61 trips of special trains from Jamalpur are being ran to cater to the Chhath Puja rush.
