EAST TECH 2024 SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES, SHOWCASING CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION AT BISWA BANGLA MELA PRANGAN, KOLKATA
Kolkata, 06 Nov 2024 – The much-anticipated East Tech 2024, a symposium of defence technology and innovation, successfully concluded today at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, Kolkata. The event was organised under the aegis of Headquarters Eastern Command of the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM). It brought together the brightest minds from the defence and technology sectors, highlighting India’s growing expertise in indigenous defence solutions and cutting-edge technologies.
Lieutenant General RC Srikanth,VSM, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Eastern Command, expressed his sincere appreciation for the exceptional efforts put in by all participants, agencies, and industry partners that contributed to the successful execution of this landmark event. He acknowledged the collective commitment and collaboration across multiple sectors, which was instrumental in the seamless conduct of the exhibition.
In his remarks, Lt Gen Srikanth emphasized that East Tech 2024 served as a platform to demonstrate India’s increasing capability in self-reliant defence technologies, aligning with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and the Raksha Atmanirbharta campaign. These initiatives aim to reduce India’s dependency on foreign defence imports by fostering indigenous innovation and manufacturing in the defence sector.
“The contributions from all the stakeholders have not only made this event a resounding success but have also underscored India’s growing prowess in defence and indigenous technologies,” said Lt Gen RC Srikanth. “The collaboration between the defence forces, CII, SIDM, and industry partners is paving the way for a future that is tech-driven, self-reliant, and secure. The principles of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Raksha Atmanirbharta are central to this transformation.”
