Former Media Advisor AMU Backs CM Yogi Adityanath’s Call for AMU Reforms

Professor Jasim Mohammad Supports Yogi Adityanath’s Push for AMU Compliance

Aligarh/New Delhi, Nov 10, 2024: Professor Jasim Mohammad, former Media Advisor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and author of “The AMU,” has voiced strong support for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent comments on the AMU.

Professor Jasim Mohammad emphasized that institutions funded by the Central Government, such as AMU, must adhere to the rules established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and operate in alignment with directives from the Central Government.

In his statement, Professor Jasim highlighted the need for the AMU administration to focus on academic excellence as its primary goal. He argued that raising educational standards would benefit students and also enhance AMU’s status as a leading educational institution in India and beyond. Academic quality, he suggested, should be at the heart of AMU’s mission.

He further stressed that by concentrating on these reforms, AMU could strengthen its legacy and reputation on both national and international levels. He expressed his hope that the university administration would prioritize these objectives to fulfill its potential and continue its historic contribution to Indian education.
