Over the years, the institute has passionately upheld the rich tradition of Bharatanatyam, inspiring multiple generations to connect with this timeless art form. The institute is dedicated to nurturing students from diverse age groups—starting from 4-year-old children to women in their 40s and beyond. With a focus on preserving tradition while embracing the dynamism of modern teaching methods, the institute imparts a holistic understanding of Bharatanatyam. It strives to make the art form inclusive and accessible, touching lives globally through both online and offline classes.
Jhinook Mukherjee Sinha says, “South Kolkata Nrityangan extends its artistic influence beyond the studio, fostering a connection with society through its association with the orphanage Refugee, through the years. ” She adds, “Bharatanatyam is an art form that demands immense dedication, discipline, and perseverance. For the students, this annual showcase is a culmination of months, sometimes years, of rigorous practice and hard work. It provides them an opportunity to share their progress, talent, and love for the art with their families, peers, and the larger community.”
