Centre for Narendra Modi Studies Requests UGC to Introduce ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as a Subject in Universities
New Delhi Feb 23, 2025: The Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS-NaMo Kendra) has requested the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof M Jagadesh Kumar to introduce Mann Ki Baat as a subject in universities and colleges. In a letter addressed to the UGC Chairman, Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman of CNMS, emphasized the significance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Aakashwani monthly Radio programme, which has successfully completed 100 episodes.
The letter stated, “This program has been a source of inspiration, motivation, and nation-building ideas. It covers various important topics, including social reforms, youth empowerment, innovation, self-reliance (Aatmanirbhar Bharat), and India’s cultural heritage.”
Aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat, CNMS has urged UGC to make Mann Ki Baat a compulsory subject in higher education. The proposal highlights that “Studying this subject will inspire students to engage with real-life examples of determination and success.”
Referring to the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the letter further emphasized, “We strongly recommend making Mann Ki Baat a compulsory subject in higher education. This will help students gain deeper insights into India’s socio-economic transformation and the role of leadership in nation-building.”
CNMS believes that incorporating Mann Ki Baat into academic curricula will instill value-based learning and nurture a sense of responsibility and purpose among students. The letter concluded with a strong appeal, “We once again request you to take the necessary steps to introduce Mann Ki Baat as a subject in all universities and colleges under UGC, ensuring its integration into higher education.”
