69th “RAIL SEVA PURASKAR” AWARD CERREMONY AT SEALDAH TO RECOGNIZE EXCELLENCE IN PERFORMANCE

Shri Deepak Nigam, DRM/Sealdah handed over Rail Seva Puraskar to 69 Railway employees for demonstrating outstanding devotion to duties in Sealdah Division. Apart various departments and Units were honoured for achieving excellence in performance. The prestigious award ceremony was marked by lighting of ceremonial lamp by DRM/Sealdah in presence of Smt Gunjan Nigam, President ERWWO and Additional Divisional Railway Managers. Divisional Cultural team staged a unique comedy drama and a magnificent dance performance was staged by a group of dancers.
Total 16 efficiency shields were presented apart from 69 individual awardees. Rail Seva Puraskar are awarded for exhibiting unwavering dedication towards duties and responsibilities and to recognize exemplary performance by Railway employees. In his brief yet inspiring speech, Shri Deepak Nigam, DRM/Sealdah has said that Sealdah Division has shown remarkable performance in different fields during the last Financial Year. During 2023-2024, Gross Earning of Sealdah Division has rose to massive Rs 1607.2 crores, which is 3.52% higher than that of last year. Apart, Sealdah Division has achieved 1.787 metric ton freight loading during last year, thereby registering a whooping 13.3% hike than last year. In another significant development, sectional speed of 10 sections within Sealdah Division has been raised upto 110 KMPH. Further, 85 One Station One Product (OSOP) stalls have been successfully opened at 85 stations across the division. Moreso, Sealdah Division has managed to earn a huge 41.51 crore in Scrap Disposal as against laid down target of 24 crore. Sealdah Station, the lifeline of suburban services with the City of Joy, has been certified as IGBC Green Railway station for achieving energy efficiency and sustainability in Railway operations.
Shri Nigam has hailed all the awardees for their individual brilliance and invaluable participation in achieving organizational goal. Narkeldanga Carshed has been awarded best maintained EMU carshed, whereas Dumdum has won best running room shield. Chitpur Coaching Depot has snatched Best Coaching Depot Shield while Majerhat Depot has conquered Best Goods Depot Shield. RPF Post at Kolkata Station has been awarded as best maintained RPF post. Best Maintained Station Shield goes to Kolkata station.
The 69th Rail Seva Puraskar was truly a glittering event to recognize the hard working and all round excellence of Railway men who are accomplishing every difficult challenge and truly contributing in overall socio-economic development of the nation. All Branch officers, members of ERWWO and other dignitaries graced this auspicious occasion.
