MCCI Women Achiever’s Award’ 2025
To mark the occasion of International Women’s Day, MCCI & MCCI Ladies Forum organised a Panel Discussion & Felicitation Ceremony on “The Next Generation of Women Leaders – Unleashing the Power, Thrive and Lead” today at Park Hotel, Kolkata.
To recognize the remarkable contribution of women in the society, ‘MCCI Women Achiever’s Award’ was conferred to Padma Shri Dr. Sudha Kaul, Founder, Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, Ms. Churni Ganguly, Actress, Writer & Director and Padma Shri Ms. Mouma Das, Indian Table Tennis Player & Arjuna Awardee.
Mr. Amit Saraogi, President, MCCI mentioned that MCCI- MLF is committed to work towards women empowerment and equality and reiterated this pledge to carry this legacy of the Chamber forward.
In the Panel Discussion Session on “The Next Generation of Women Leaders – Unleashing the Power, Thrive and Lead”, Ms. Barbara Voss, Consul General, Consulate General of Germany in Kolkata; Dr. Minu Budhia, Psychotherapist & Counselor, Founder-Director, Carring Minds International; Dr. Manabi Bandyopadhyay, Principal, Dhola Mahavidyalaya; Ms. Shaleni Bbiswas, Founder & Managing Director, Easynote Stationery Pvt. Ltd.; Ms. Smaranika Tripathy, Consultant Clinical & Rehabilitation Psychologist, Belle Vue Clinic, shared their insights and experience, and also shed light on the way ahead for women leaders. They felt that path to gender equality in leadership positions both in business and corporate is paved with courage, determination, and vision. By breaking through glass ceilings and challenging the status quo, the Society should create a pathway for future generations of women to rise to their full potential. Let us embrace the responsibility to create inclusive workplaces that welcome diversity and empower women to thrive.

In her Welcome Address, Ms. Deepali Saraogi, Chairperson, MCCI Ladies Forum, said that there is a profound shift in societal norms and expectations. Women are no longer content to occupy the sidelines; they are stepping into the spotlight, demanding their rightful place in every arena, from politics to business, and beyond. The voices of women are becoming louder, more assertive, and more influential. This evolution is fueled by a growing recognition of women’s capabilities and contributions.
The Event was concluded with hearty vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Shruti Jhajharia, Co-Chairperson, MCCI Ladies Forum. She viewed that women are nurturer and the most beautiful embodiment of the Creator. Together, they can create a more inclusive and equitable world.
