The city of dreams witnessed a magical evening as the star-studded premiere of the much-anticipated film “Puratawn” unfolded in grand style. The premiere marked a historic cinematic moment with two powerhouse performers — the legendary Sharmila Tagore and National Award-winning actress Rituparna Sengupta — sharing the screen for the very first time.
The premiere was graced by leading lights of the film industry, dignitaries, cinephiles, and members of the press, all eager to witness this poignant tale brought to life by acclaimed filmmaker Suman Ghosh. “Puratawn,” written and directed by Suman Ghosh and produced by Rituparna Sengupta, captured the audience with its compelling narrative. It explores how the lives of three individuals—played by Sharmila Tagore, Rituparna Sengupta, and Indraneil Sengupta—undergo a profound transformation when they are unexpectedly forced to confront the shadows of their past.
