School Students Attend the CISCE Inspire Webinar – “Igniting Minds, Exploring Frontiers”
Kolkata, October, 2025: South City International School (SCIS) proudly participated in the CISCE Inspire Series: 5th Edition, an awe-inspiring live webinar titled “Igniting Minds, Exploring Frontiers”, featuring Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, distinguished Indian Air Force Test Pilot and ISRO Gaganyaan Astronaut.
The session unfolded as a captivating odyssey of inspiration—one that carried students far beyond the horizons of the ordinary into the boundless cosmos of imagination, discovery, and scientific wonder. It was more than a learning experience; it became a journey of awakening, where youthful curiosity met the vast expanse of the universe.
Group Captain Shukla’s insightful address resonated deeply with every listener as he shared glimpses of his space training, experiences, and the immense possibilities that the universe holds for dreamers and doers alike. He spoke of space not merely as a physical frontier but as a world beyond the known—a realm where familiar rules shift, perspectives widen, and the immensity of existence becomes profoundly felt.
He also shed light on the stillness of space, explaining how even the simplest human actions—like moving, eating, or resting—become entirely new experiences in microgravity. He shared how scientists conduct pathbreaking experiments in zero gravity, from studying stem cells to understanding muscle loss—research that holds immense promise for life on Earth.
Most movingly, Group Captain Shukla reflected on the oneness of humanity visible from orbit. From space, he said, there are no borders or divisions—only one planet, one home. Watching India glow beneath the velvet dark instilled in him both humility and awe, reaffirming that we are all citizens of the same Earth.
Students were spellbound as they listened to his anecdotes and engaged in an interactive Q&A session, asking insightful questions on India’s space goals, sustainability in orbit, and the upcoming Bharti Space Station. The discussions reinforced the importance of perseverance, vision, and discipline in turning dreams into reality.
Reflecting on the experience, Ms. Rupika Nath, Acting Principal of South City International School, said, “Group Captain Shukla’s words truly ignited our students’ imagination. His journey reminded us that courage, discipline, and vision are the pillars of greatness. It was heartening to see our learners so inspired to think beyond boundaries and believe that the stars are not distant—they are destinations for those who dare to dream.”
The webinar proved to be much more than an informative session—it became a spark of inspiration that encouraged young minds to think beyond limitations and aspire for excellence.
