50th ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE AND CME PROGRAM ORGANISED BY INDIAN RAILWAY HEALTH SERVICE ASSOCIATION, B.R. SINGH HOSPITAL

The 50th Annual Scientific Conference and Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme organised by the Indian Railway Health Service Association, B. R. Singh Hospital, Eastern Railway, with the theme: “Comprehensive Patient Care: Where Disciplines Meet,” at B. C. Roy Auditorium, Sealdah on 01.11.2025.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Jagdish Chandra, Director General, Railway Health Services (DGRHS); Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway; Swami Sarvottamananda, Vice Chancellor, Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda University; Dr. Nataraj Basappa, Principal Chief Medical Director/Eastern Railway and Chief Patron, IRHSA; Shri Rajeev Saxena, Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah; and Shri S. Mukhopadhyay, Secy / IRHSA/ B. R. Singh Hospital, along with senior officers from headquarters, distinguished guests, and members of the Railway medical fraternity.
The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries—Dr. Jagdish Chandra, Shri Milind Deouskar, and other eminent guests—marking the formal commencement of the conference.
Prior to the inauguration of the programme, Dr. Jagdish Chandra, Director General, Railway Health Services (DGRHS), in the presence of Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway; Shri Sheelendra Pratap Singh, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway; Dr. Nataraj Basappa, Principal Chief Medical Director/Eastern Railway and Chief Patron, IRHSA; Shri Rajeev Saxena, Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah and members of the medical fraternity, inaugurated a state-of-the-art 3 Tesla MRI Machine and the renovated Blood Centre at B. R. Singh Hospital for the benefit of Railway beneficiaries.
In his address, Dr. Jagdish Chandra, DGRHS, highlighted the importance of organizing health camps and awareness programmes. He emphasized the need to strengthen antenatal, prenatal, and perinatal care to improve overall healthcare services. Dr. Chandra also stressed the upgradation of health units and divisional hospitals along with B. R. Singh Hospital for the well-being of Railway beneficiaries.
Shri Milind K. Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway, appreciated these remarkable initiatives and acknowledged their contribution towards enhancing the quality of Railway health services. He also suggested further improvements in medical facilities with greater care and attention. Swami Sarvottamananda delivered his inspirational words to improve the connection between doctors & patients. Dr. Nataraj Basappa, Principal Chief Medical Director, Eastern Railway, and Shri Rajeev Saxena, Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah, also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the medical and paramedical staff, whose commitment played a key role in the successful organization of the conference.
The scientific extravaganza witnessed participation from Principal Chief Medical Directors of different zones, Medical Directors of Divisional Hospitals, Chief Medical Superintendents, administrative officers, doctors of Indian Railways, and postgraduate trainees.
A booklet on the 50th Annual Conference and CME Programme was also released by the dignitaries on this occasion.
