RPF RESCUES EIGHT MINOR CHILDREN UNDER “OPERATION NANHE FARISTE”

Eastern Railway continues its sustained efforts to ensure the safety and protection of vulnerable children travelling or found in distress across its network. As part of this commitment, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) regularly undertakes rescue operations under the nationwide initiative “Operation Nanhe Fariste,” aimed at safeguarding minors and preventing trafficking, child labour, and other forms of exploitation.
On 28.11.2025, RPF personnel of Howrah, Sealdah, and Asansol Divisions successfully rescued eight minor children—six boys and two girls—from Howrah, Pakur, Kolkata, Jasidih, Asansol, and Dumka railway stations, as well as from onboard running trains. All the rescued children were safely handed over to the concerned Child Help Line for counselling and further necessary action.
The rescued children included a boy found roaming aimlessly at Dumka Railway Station, a girl travelling alone without proper guidance onboard Train No. 13186 DN (Ganga Sagar Express), and a boy who had mistakenly boarded a Kolkata-bound train instead of travelling to Pakur. Another boy who had fled home, intending to visit Kolkata, was also rescued. Additionally, four minors who had left their homes after being scolded by their guardians were traced and rescued from various stations.
