SPECIAL CAMPS TO FACILITATE COMMUTERS FOR RECHARGING SMART CARDS ONLINE AND PROMOTE UPI PAYMENT-BASED TICKETING SYSTEM

In order to make different digital payment modes introduced in Metro Railway familiar to the commuters and enhance the share of digital transactions in ticketing, Special Camps were organised today, on 06.12.2025, by Metro staff at all stations of Blue Line, Green Line, Purple Line, and Yellow Line. In these camps, Metro users were made aware of the improved ‘Aamar Kolkata Metro’ app and how to download it from Google Play Store (Android) and App Store (iOS).
Metro staff also showed them the procedures to use it. Metro commuters were also helped to purchase tokens and recharge/buy their Smart Cards through ASCRM machines with the help of the UPI Payment-Based Ticketing System. They have shown keen interest in shifting to a digital system and adopting smart ways to purchase tokens, Mobile-Based QR code tickets, Smart Cards, and recharge them. They were visibly happy as this digital mode is helping them to save their valuable time, as they don’t need to stand in the long queues in front of the booking counters to recharge or purchase their Smart Cards or tickets.
