Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee team up for a Fund Raising festival in aid of Autism Ashram at Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan National Festival of Music and Dance 2025 at Hyderabad.
The 8th season of the Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan National Festival of Music and Dance 2025 is set to captivate audiences with a spectacular presentation by noted film actress and classical dancer Rituparna Sengupta, renowned Music Composer Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee, and concept creator and Festival Director Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee. The Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan National Festival of Music and Dance celebrates the life and legacy of the legendary musician Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, promoting Indian classical music and dance. This year’s festival promises to be a mesmerizing experience, bringing together some of the most talented artists in the country.
Ms Jagriti Chakraborty (odissi Dance),Jugalbandhi with Pt.Lokesh Anand (On Shehnai) & Pt.Bipul Kumar Ray (on santoor) and Vidhushi Ivy Banerjee ( Hindustani Vocal) would perform on the first day , 13th Dec 2025 and on the second day, 14th Dec 2025,the artists include Pt.Partha Bose (On sitar) , Sanjay Chakraborty (On Sarod), Ritesh & Rajnish Mishra Brother Duo (Hindustani Vocal- from Benaras) and the finale with Film Actress Ms.Rituparna Sengupta performing Indian Classical Dance.
The Prestigious, one of its kind festival has been conceived, Curated and produced by Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee and Prodyut Mukherjee.
“It’s an absolute honor to perform at the Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan National Festival of Music and Dance 2025. This festival is a celebration of the life and legacy of the legendary musician Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. Performing on a Classical Stage asks for a different kind of attention. The classical stage is always very difficult to fathom because it moves from a fusion or make believe world to something strict and definitive. It’s a great privilege to share the stage with other talented artists and to pay tribute to the maestro’s contributions to Indian classical music. I’m looking forward to an unforgettable experience!” says Rituparna Sengupta, the National Award Winning actress. She has put together a piece for the festival with music composed by Pt.Prodyut Mukherjee. It uses his composition and folds in Radha Krishna Based material,Carnatic elements from Telugu Classical work and a concluding section built around a national anthem song.
“I m drawn to curate the Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan festival in Hyderabad because it’s a tribute to the legendary musician who spent his last days here and is revered as the Tansen of the 20th century. I’m honored to pay my respects at his shrine and seek his blessings before the festival begins, as part of Abhijit Bhattacharya’s vision for Sangeetanjali Foundation.”
For Season 8, our guiding principle was to create a platform where legendary artists and young stars come together, showcasing the rich diversity of Indian classical music. Abhijit Bhattacharya and I wanted to highlight the emerging talent, as they are the bright future of our music. By bringing together seasoned maestros and young virtuosos, we aim to create a unique experience that will inspire and delight audiences .says the ever energetic Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee, The Grammy Jury, Los Angeles Chapter and GIMA awardee and Governor’s National Excellence Awardee . He visits the Legend’s Mazhar (shrine) before the festival begins, a practice he and Abhijeet Bhattacharjee follows, as a part of Sangitanjaly Foundation’s reverence and seeking blessings from the divine soul.
Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee, Chairman of Sangitanjaly Foundation, is taking Indian Cultural heritage forward by organising the Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan National Festival of Music and Dance, which promotes Indian Art and Dance forms, including Folk, Light Music, Fusion, and Sufi.He’s also providing a platform for upcoming talents in this domain. He believes that this festival is a great honour to offer their Shradhanjali and remember Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Saheb, who spent his last days in Hyderabad.
