EASTERN COMMAND ORGANISED A GRAND MILITARY SPECTACLE AT MANGAL PANDEY MILITARY TRAINING AREA, VIJAY DURG TO MARK VIJAY DIWAS CELEBRATIONS 2025.

Headquarters Eastern Command, commemorates 54th Vijay Diwas on 16 Dec 2025, in the series of events organised to celebrate the event Military Tattoo was conducted at Mangal Pandey Training Area, Vijay Durg, Kolkata. The event was graced by Gen (Dr) VK Singh (Retd), Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram, and Shri Aroop Biswas, Hon’ble Minister of Youth Services and Sports, Housing and Power, Government of West Bengal, as the Chief Guests. They were joined by Lt Gen Ram Chander Tiwari, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, along with other senior military officers, civil officials and distinguished guests. The grand celebration, open to the public, witnessed an overwhelming turnout from across Kolkata and adjoining regions.
The celebrations featured a spectacular range of military displays, led by an impressive Fly Past of Army Combat Helicopters, followed by captivating tent pegging performances by Army riders, showcasing the exceptional bond between Army riders and their steeds. The audience also witnessed a thrilling demonstration of combat manoeuvres by Indian Army Aviators, highlighting operational precision & battlefield agilty, a mesmerizing display by microlight aircrafts and the advances in technology demonstrated by Swarm Drones & Robot Mules.
Adding rich cultural and traditional dimensions to the programme the performances of Kalari Payattu, Bhangra, Gatka, Jalari Phatak were applauded by the spectators. The invigorating martial music performances by the Army Band enthralled the audience. Furthermore, an extensive display of modern weapons, equipment and drones
offered insights into cutting edge military technologies.
Gen VK Singh and Lt Gen RC Tiwari, addressed the spectators and highlighted on the Indo- Bangladesh friendship, the atrocities committed by Pakistani Army on Bengalis in East Pakistan, and the courage, fortitude and bravery of Indian Armed Forces and Mukti Jodhas that led to the defeat of the Pakistani tyrants and the surrender of 93000 Pakistani troops, leading to the creation of an independent Bangladesh.
More than a celebration, this grand occasion stands as a solemn tribute to the valour, sacrifice, and indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces and India-Bangladesh friendship. It seeks to honour the legacy of Vijay Diwas while forging a deep emotional connect with the audience through history, tradition, and military excellence.
