Sr.DCM Sealdah Conducts Surprise Ticket Checking on Sealdah–Ranaghat AC EMU; Urges Students to Be Responsible Citizens.

In a move to ensure ticket compliance and enhance passenger discipline, Sr Divisional Commercial Manager, Sealdah Division conducted a high-level surprise ticket checking drive on a Sealdah–Ranaghat AC EMU local train.During the intensive drive, several passengers were found traveling without valid tickets or with improper travel authority. Among those apprehended were a number of students. Beyond the usual recovery of fines, the inspection took an empathetic and educational turn. Recognizing the presence of youth among the offenders, Sr. DCM personally engaged in a counselling session with the students.
Sr.DCM/Sealdah, Sri Jasram Meena, emphasized that students are the “Future of the Nation” and highlighted the importance of honesty and civic duty. Encouraging youth to lead by example by following railway rules and reminding them that being a “Good Citizen” starts with small, honest actions like purchasing a valid ticket. Explaining how ticket revenue is vital for maintaining high-quality services like the AC EMU coaches and the value of public assets.
