Dr. Pinaki Chattopadhyay Enthrals the Audience with “Kabye Sure”
A colourful cultural programme titled “Abritti Porob” was organised by Abrittiwala on 15 March at Shishir Mancha. One of the major attractions of the evening was “Kabye Sure,” a unique presentation blending recitation with instrumental music. Through his expressive recitation, Dr. Pinaki Chattopadhyay of Abrittiwala presented poems by Lalon Fakir, Shah Abdul Karim, Rudra Muhammad Shahidullah, and Nirendranath Chakraborty, captivating the audience. Bappa Sengupta accompanied him in this special presentation.
On this occasion, the “Abrittijan Sammanona” was conferred upon folk singer Abhijit Bosu, recitation artist Partha Mukhopadhyay, and dance guru Sujoy Thakur in recognition of their contributions to the arts.
The event also marked the release of the second volume of the book “Abritti Amar Bhalobasha.” Published by Udar Akash Publications, the book was brought out by publisher Faruque Ahamed. The inauguration ceremony was attended by writer Emanul Haque, journalist and film director Dr. Rhitibrata Bhattacharya, Abhijit Bosu, and Rabindra Sangeet artist Dr. Paulomi Das, among other distinguished guests.
Another highlight of the programme was a recitation-based presentation centred on Nazrul’s beloved son Bulbul, directed by Somerita Mallik. The programme created a vibrant cultural atmosphere through a rich blend of recitation, music, and dance.
A recitation collage titled “Toray Bandha Ghorar Dim,” based on the poems of Sukumar Ray, was presented by the young members of Abrittiwala. The performers included Pratikriti Chattopadhyay, Maubani Sen, Ritashree Das, and Basundhara Sinha, and the presentation was directed by Dr. Pinaki Chattopadhyay.
Dr. Pinaki Chattopadhyay also played a key role in the planning and presentation of the programme. His dynamic presence and creative interpretation greatly enriched the evening’s event.
