Kolkata Innovator Secures Copyright for World’s First Technorhyme in Bengali on Basic Electrical

In a pioneering step toward transforming technical education in regional languages, Kolkata-based educator and creator Supriyo Sengupta has officially received copyright registration for his innovative work titled “World’s First Technorhyme in Bengali on Basic Electrical.”
The copyright has been granted by the Copyright Office, Government of India, under the provisions of the Intellectual Property Office India, recognizing the originality and uniqueness of the concept.
The registered work introduces a novel educational approach by presenting fundamental electrical engineering theories in the form of engaging and rhythmic Bengali verses. Designed to simplify complex technical concepts, the technorhyme format aims to make learning more accessible, memorable, and enjoyable—especially for students at the foundational level of electrical studies.
According to official records, the registration was completed in March 2026 under the Copyright Act, 1957. The work is described as a creative compilation of technical electrical theories written in the form of humorous and structured rhymes in Bengali.
Educationists believe that such interdisciplinary innovation—combining engineering principles with linguistic creativity—can significantly improve student engagement and concept retention. With increasing emphasis on regional language education, this initiative is being viewed as a progressive step toward inclusive technical learning.
Speaking on the achievement, Sengupta stated that the inspiration behind the technorhyme concept was to remove the fear often associated with technical subjects and to make electrical fundamentals easier to understand for Bengali-speaking learners.
With plans underway for publication and broader dissemination, this pioneering effort may open new pathways in creative technical education and set a precedent for subject-based rhyming pedagogy in India.
