CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Capacity Building Workshop on Anti-Human Trafficking was organized today, i.e., 23.03.2026, at Metro Rail Bhavan by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Metro Railway, Kolkata, in collaboration with the National Commission for Women(NCW).
Shri Subhransu S. Mishra, General Manager, Metro Railway, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. In his speech, Shri Mishra expressed his hope that this capacity-building workshop would help to fight against the menace of human trafficking. He stated that this workshop would help to bring clarity in day-to-day work in the matter of Anti-Human Trafficking. Shri Sudeep Jain, Member Secretary, NCW, Chief Guest for the event, in his keynote address, said that the evil menace of human trafficking disturbs the family and the extended family too. Even rescuing one child or a lady is a great achievement and relief for the family.
The workshop aimed to enhance awareness, strengthen institutional capacity, and sensitize personnel towards the prevention of human trafficking, with a special focus on safeguarding vulnerable sections of society.
Experts from WBNUJS, NGOs, other experts in the field, and officials of the Railway Protection Force shared insights on identification, prevention strategies, and coordinated response mechanisms.
The initiative reflects Metro Railway’s continued commitment to ensuring passenger safety and contributing to national efforts in combating human trafficking
