BJP raises the question: Bengal’s Children Are Starving. TMC is Sleeping.
Parliament’s own records tell a damning story.
In Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee’s own city, child wasting has nearly doubled from 17.4% to 29.3% under TMC rule. In South 24 Parganas, child stunting has jumped from 27.3% to 36.7%. In Uttar Dinajpur, nearly 1 in 2 children is stunted.
The Central Government has released over ₹5,000 crore to West Bengal under Mission Poshan 2.0 in just four years, for nutrition, for Anganwadis, for our mothers and children.
And the State Government? It has not submitted a single rupee’s utilisation report for the last two financial years.
Money released. Children malnourished. Accounts missing.
This is not poverty. This is political negligence.
While TMC leaders celebrate syndicate money, the children of Bengal – in Purulia, in Malda, in Nadia, in your neighbourhood are paying with their stunted growth and broken futures.
