‘Ayodhya Parv’ to be held at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts

2nd April, New Delhi: The annual programme ‘Ayodhya Parv’, centred on devotion, dignity, and cultural consciousness associated with the sacred city of Ayodhya, will be held from April 3 to 5, 2026 at the premises of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Janpath, New Delhi. The event is being organised under the joint aegis of Shri Ayodhya Parv Nyas and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. Conceived as a three-day engagement, the programme seeks to present the cultural, spiritual, historical, and folk traditions of Ayodhya through multiple dimensions, bringing together exhibitions, discussions, cultural presentations, and spiritual expressions in a cohesive format.

As part of the programme schedule, a discussion session on ‘The Future of Ayodhya’ (Bhavishya ki Ayodhya), focusing on urban planning, will be held on Friday, April 3 at 11:00 AM. The session will feature Shri Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Shri Ram Temple Construction Committee, along with experts and scholars from diverse fields. The inaugural session will take place the same day at 3:00 PM, with the presence of Mahant Shri Kamal Nayan Das Ji Maharaj of Shri Maniramdas Chhawani, Ayodhya; Shri Suresh ‘Bhaiyyaji’ Joshi, varishth pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh; Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare; Shri Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir; Rajkumari Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan; and Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, Chairman of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.

Over the course of three days, the event will feature exhibitions on the heritage sites of Ayodhya, blessings by revered saints, addresses by eminent intellectuals, and a series of discussion sessions. Themes such as ‘Shabari ke Ram’, the idea of ‘Ram Rajya’, and perspectives on governance, society, and the cultural future of Ayodhya will be explored. The programme will also include spiritual music, classical performances, and diverse expressions of folk art. Presentations based on ‘Geet Ramayan’, theatrical performances, and the ‘Ankiya Bhaona’ dance-drama by artists from Assam will add to the cultural range of the event. An ‘Awadhi Haat’ will also be set up at the venue, offering an experience of traditional cuisine and local crafts.

The event is not limited to cultural presentation alone but seeks to engage with Ayodhya as a living site of cultural discourse, enabling reflection on its layered character and its contemporary relevance. The programme will witness the participation of saints, scholars, policymakers, artists, and public representatives. The event will be held from April 3 to 5, 2026 at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Janpath, New Delhi. Shri Lallu Singh, former Member of Parliament from Faizabad, is the convenor of the programme.
