“We Need to Introspect when the Party Itself Gets Drowned in Corruption” – Anurag Singh Thakur on Raghav Chaddha’s exit from Aam Aadmi Party.

At the sidelines of the I.I.M.U.N. Kolkata Conference, Anurag Singh Thakur addressed the media when asked about reports surrounding Raghav Chaddha’s exit from the Aam Aadmi Party. Responding candidly, he remarked, “I think the people who kept trying to belittle their own leaders—again and again taking away their responsibilities, forcing them to leave the party—we need to reflect on what the reason is. We need to introspect, we need to churn it over, and understand why.” His comments highlighted internal party dynamics and the need for self-reflection within political organisations.

Continuing his statement, Thakur further added, “The reason is clear: these people had become unhappy within their own party. They came with the core idea that they would fight corruption. But when the party itself gets drowned in corruption, then MPs and other leaders start leaving.” His remarks pointed toward a broader critique of governance and ideological drift, suggesting that disillusionment among party members often stems from a gap between founding principles and current practices.
