PM Modi Distributes Over 51,000 Government Appointment Letters Under Rozgar Mela Initiative

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates joining various departments and organisations of the Central Government under the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela programme. The event was held through video conferencing and connected thousands of young recruits across the country.
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Prime Minister described the occasion as an important milestone in India’s journey toward becoming a “Viksit Bharat” or Developed India by 2047. He said the country’s youth are emerging as the driving force behind India’s economic transformation and technological rise. According to him, young professionals entering sectors such as railways, defence, banking, education, and healthcare will play a crucial role in shaping the nation’s future.
The Prime Minister highlighted the growing international confidence in India’s demographic strength and technological progress. Referring to his recent diplomatic engagements with several countries, he stated that global corporations and foreign governments are increasingly looking at India as a long-term strategic and economic partner. He noted that discussions during the foreign visits focused on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, green technology, maritime cooperation, advanced manufacturing, defence production, energy security, and digital innovation.
According to the Prime Minister, these international partnerships are designed not only to strengthen India’s economy but also to generate employment opportunities and global exposure for Indian youth. He said emerging sectors such as clean energy, critical minerals, green hydrogen, sustainable manufacturing, semiconductor production, and advanced electronics are expected to become major sources of future employment.
Highlighting India’s expanding semiconductor ecosystem, Modi said the country is rapidly building a complete domestic semiconductor supply chain and several semiconductor units are already creating employment for young engineers and technology professionals. He also referred to India’s growing shipbuilding and aviation maintenance ecosystem, supported by large-scale infrastructure investments and industrial reforms.
The Prime Minister stated that India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has significantly accelerated electronics manufacturing and generated employment across the industrial value chain. He added that both public and private sector investments are contributing to large-scale job creation in manufacturing, logistics, technology, and infrastructure development.
Speaking about rural transformation, Modi said improved connectivity, digital infrastructure, highways, railways, airports, electricity access, and water supply schemes are changing the economic landscape of villages and small towns. He noted that enhanced connectivity has opened new opportunities for farmers, students, entrepreneurs, and small traders across India.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the rapid rise of India’s startup ecosystem, stating that the country now has more than 2.3 lakh recognised startups and has emerged as one of the world’s leading centres for innovation and entrepreneurship. He observed that startup culture is no longer limited to metropolitan cities, with youth from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities increasingly entering technology, innovation, and business sectors.
Encouraging the newly recruited government employees, Modi said public service should be viewed as a form of national service and responsibility. He urged the appointees to maintain empathy, professionalism, and efficiency while dealing with citizens, stressing that the credibility of institutions depends on the conduct and dedication of public servants.
The Rozgar Mela initiative was launched by the Central Government as part of a nationwide recruitment drive aimed at accelerating employment generation and filling vacancies across government departments. Officials stated that the programme forms part of the broader strategy to strengthen governance, administrative efficiency, and youth empowerment while supporting India’s long-term development vision.
