Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee, renowned Grammy Jury member, Governor’s National Awardee & GIMA awardee, recently conducted a transformative music workshop at the Autism Ashram, Hyderabad, in collaboration with Sangitanjaly Foundation. The workshop, themed “Healing Through Music,” showcased music’s therapeutic potential in supporting emotional expression, communication, and relaxation in autistic children. “Music is a bridge to healing and inclusion,” says Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee, Chairman, Sangitanjaly Foundation. Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee said, “These workshops calm and heal their minds. It helps to grow their mental health. Besides that, it’s our primary responsibility to give them a better world.”

The event created a joyful atmosphere, encouraging children to participate and connect.

Music therapy has shown significant benefits for autistic children, including improved communication, emotional regulation, and social skills. Dr. Anil Kundra, President of Autism Ashram, praised the initiative, saying, “Music therapy is a game-changer for autistic children.”

It is seen that music therapy improves communication skills, emotional regulation, and social skills. The therapy includes minimal sensory overload and calming tones. Instruments used, such as the Tabla and jembe, encouraged children to participate directly. The impact on those children was visible as a healing effect on them; parents joined in, dancing and enjoying the workshop.
