Zurich, June 11, 2026: The FIFA World Cup 2026™ is poised to become the most widely accessible and technologically advanced edition of the tournament after FIFA confirmed that media rights agreements have now been secured across more than 220 territories worldwide.
According to FIFA, the extensive broadcast network combines long-standing television partners with emerging digital platforms, generating record media rights revenues while significantly expanding the tournament’s global audience.
Record-breaking global broadcast strategy
FIFA stated that the 2026 World Cup will establish a new standard for international sports broadcasting by integrating traditional television coverage with digital-first and immersive viewing experiences.
Commenting on the development, FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said the tournament will redefine how football fans experience the world’s biggest sporting event.
He noted that FIFA’s media partnerships bring together leading broadcasters alongside innovative digital platforms and new content formats, enabling supporters across the globe to engage with the competition through multiple viewing options.
Comprehensive coverage in host nations
In the three host countries—the United States, Canada, and Mexico—FIFA has partnered with major broadcasters to ensure extensive coverage throughout the tournament.
The official broadcast partners include:
- Fox Sports for English-language coverage in the United States
- Telemundo for Spanish-language coverage in the United States
- CTV/TSN/RDS in Canada
- Televisa in Mexico
These broadcasters will provide comprehensive reporting from all host cities, offering live match coverage along with on-ground storytelling and tournament-related programming.
Digital platforms to engage younger audiences
FIFA has also expanded its digital strategy by signing Preferred Platform partnerships with YouTube and TikTok, reflecting the growing importance of online content consumption, particularly among younger audiences.
In addition, FIFA will launch its first-ever global creator programme, granting selected digital creators exclusive behind-the-scenes access to produce original content and offer fans unique perspectives from the tournament.
Immersive 12K viewing experience in the United States
One of the tournament’s most innovative initiatives will be introduced in the United States through a collaboration between Fox Sports, FIFA, and Cosm.
The partnership aims to present selected matches, including the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final, in immersive 12K shared-reality environments, providing spectators with a new way to experience live football through advanced visual technology.
Dallas to host International Broadcast Centre
FIFA announced that the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) for the tournament will be located in Dallas, serving as the global hub for content production and media distribution.
The facility will coordinate worldwide broadcasting operations and is expected to distribute advanced live match coverage along with approximately 8,000 hours of additional non-live programming, including feature stories, analysis, and digital content.
The organization also plans to utilize digital-first production workflows and mobile filming technologies to support broadcasters and content creators across multiple platforms.
Football’s biggest tournament aims for widest-ever audience
Through its expanded media strategy, FIFA seeks to make the 2026 World Cup the most accessible and engaging edition in the tournament’s history.
By combining traditional broadcasting, digital platforms, immersive technologies, and creator-driven content, the governing body aims to connect with new generations of football fans while reinforcing the sport’s global appeal and ability to unite audiences across continents.
