PASSENGERS REQUESTED NOT TO CROSS METRO TRACKS

Kolkata, Date – 25.06.2026:

On 23-06-2026, during morning peak hours, a lady passenger tried to move from one platform to another by crossing the tracks at Masterda Surya Sen Metro station. Alert station staff and RPF personnel immediately rescued her alive from the tracks by shutting down the electric power supply in an instant manner, as the third rail carries very high volt 750 v DC. This also disrupted the Metro services briefly.

The third line of Metro tracks carries high voltage current and works as the source of the power supply to the running Train. If any person comes in contact with the third line will immediately be electrocuted and die instantly. It is therefore requested that all passengers not cross Metro tracks when changing platforms. This could be fatal. Use underpasses and safe passenger crossovers while switching platforms in the Metro network.

Life is precious, and passengers are requested to change platforms by using the designated pathways.

We appreciate your continued co-operation for a safe journey in Metro trains.
