In a heartwarming initiative aimed at promoting emotional well-being and social inclusion, the Hemophilia Society – Durgapur Chapter organized a special visit to Tarzan Circus at Gandhi More, Durgapur, on Sunday for persons living with hemophilia and their family members.
The recreational programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from children and adults affected by hemophilia, along with their parents and caregivers. For many participants, the outing offered a welcome respite from the physical and emotional challenges associated with the lifelong bleeding disorder. The vibrant circus performances brought joy, excitement, and unforgettable moments to everyone present.
Alongside the entertainment, the Society also conducted a public awareness campaign. Volunteers distributed bilingual information leaflets among fellow spectators to educate them about hemophilia, its symptoms, the importance of early diagnosis, and the availability of proper treatment. The awareness drive received an encouraging response from visitors, helping spread knowledge about a condition that often remains misunderstood.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ajoy Roy, Secretary of the Hemophilia Society – Durgapur Chapter, emphasized that medical treatment alone is not enough for individuals living with hemophilia.
“Social interaction and recreational activities play an important role in improving confidence, mental well-being, and the overall quality of life of persons with hemophilia,” he said.
The Society expressed its gratitude to the management of Tarzan Circus for extending wholehearted support and cooperation in making the programme a memorable success.
Reaffirming its commitment to the hemophilia community, the Hemophilia Society – Durgapur Chapter said it will continue to organize similar awareness and recreational initiatives in the future, with the aim of encouraging patients, supporting their families, and fostering greater public awareness about hemophilia.
The event highlighted the importance of combining healthcare with compassion, community engagement, and recreational opportunities to help individuals with chronic health conditions lead happier and more fulfilling lives.
