Kolkata Metro Announces Special Service Schedule for Janmashtami on September 4

Kolkata, August 31, 2026: Kolkata Metro Railway will operate a modified service schedule across its Blue, Green and Yellow Lines on Friday, September 4, 2026, in view of the Janmashtami holiday.
While the number of Metro services will be adjusted on the three corridors, the timings of the first and last trains will remain unchanged.
Blue Line: 252 Services
The Blue Line will operate a total of 252 services during the day, comprising:
- 126 Up services
- 126 Down services
Passengers will continue to get the regular first and last Metro timings.
Green Line: 212 Services
On the Green Line, Metro Railway will run 212 services, divided equally between the two directions:
- 106 Up services
- 106 Down services
There will be no change in the timings of the first and last trains.
Yellow Line: 92 Services
The Yellow Line will have 92 Metro services on Janmashtami, including:
- 46 Up services
- 46 Down services
The scheduled timings of the first and last Metro services will remain unchanged.
Normal Services on Purple and Orange Lines
Metro Railway has confirmed that normal service schedules will continue on the Purple Line and Orange Line on September 4.
The modified timetable on the Blue, Green and Yellow Lines has been planned to accommodate the Janmashtami holiday while maintaining regular connectivity for passengers across Kolkata.
