IIT Bhubaneswar Wins First Prize in Rajbhasha Excellence Award 2026
Bhubaneswar, September 3, 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar has earned the First Prize in the Rajbhasha Excellence Award–2026, recognising its strong performance in implementing the Official Language during the financial year 2025–26.
The award was presented on August 21, 2026, by the Governor of Odisha during the First International Rajbhasha Annual Summit, Odisha–2026, held in Bhubaneswar. The summit was jointly organised by the Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (NARAKAS) units representing Office–2, Undertakings and Banks.
Representing IIT Bhubaneswar at the award ceremony, Shri Bamadev Acharya, Registrar, and Dr. Indresh Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, received the honour from the Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati.
The recognition reflects the institute’s institutional efforts towards strengthening the effective use and implementation of Hindi as the Official Language. It also highlights the collective contribution of the institute’s academic, administrative and support teams towards advancing Official Language practices in an institution devoted to higher education, research and technology.
The Rajbhasha Excellence Award places IIT Bhubaneswar among institutions recognised for their commitment to systematic Official Language implementation and provides further impetus to its efforts in promoting Hindi in institutional communication and administrative practices.
