THREE NEW AFC-PC GATES INSTALLED AT KALIGHAT METRO STATION

Good news for Metro commuters!

Three new AFC-PC gates have been installed at Kalighat Metro station adjacent to south booking counter for the benefit of the Metro users today i.e.on 07.10.2024. These new gates will enable the commuters of Blue Line to exit directly from paid area to the unpaid area and will also ensure free flow of commuters.

As Kalighat is one of the busiest stations of Metro Railway, Kolkata and is expected to see high footfalls during Puja days, so keeping in mind the rush of the passengers these three exit gates have been installed. These gates can handle 45 passengers per minute. Passengers can punch their Metro Tokens, Smart Cards and QR Code Based Tickets at these gates to exit.

With the addition of these three new AFC-PC Gates, at present there are 14 such Smart Gates at Kalighat Metro station to effectively manage the rush. Out of these 14 gates, 3 gates are only for Entry, 7 gates are only for Exit and 4 gates are bi-directional gates dedicated for the entry and exit of passengers travelling with tokens, Smart Cards and QR Code Based Tickets.
