In a spectacle of intellectual grandeur, the festival bestowed its most coveted jewel, the Purvodaya Literary Excellence Award 2025, upon the luminous figure of Shri Amit Chaudhury, a veritable maestro of the written word. His literary creations, akin to exquisite tapestries woven with threads of wisdom and beauty, have adorned the landscape of global literature, leaving an indelible mark upon the hearts and minds of readers.
The ceremony, a symphony of eloquence and admiration, witnessed the convergence of literary titans. Shri Arindam Mukherjee, Director ISCS, and the esteemed writer and journalist, Shri Sankar Lal Bhattacharya, with hands bearing the weight of recognition, presented the award to Shri Chaudhury. Shri Bhattacharya, with a discerning eye, illuminated the hidden melodies within Chaudhury’s prose, revealing the lyrical undercurrents that transform his works into symphonies of language. It is to mention that the Purvodaya Literary Festival 2025 is being organised by Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS) in harmonious alliance with the National Book Trust, the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the Sahitya Akademi, Sri Aurobindo Bhavan, and the Publication Board of Assam, will illuminate the literary firmament of Eastern India.
