ADG BSF reached Malda / Murshidabad, started a two-day intensive tour of the violence-affected and International border areas of the District: Expressed sympathy with the victims of violence, assured security, praised the vigilance and courage of BSF jawans wholeheartedly

Date 14 April 2025, ADG of BSF Eastern Command Shri Ravi Gandhi reached Malda and along with IG of South Bengal Frontier Shri Karni Singh Shekhawat and other senior BSF officers, conducted an intensive tour of the violence-affected areas under Samserganj and Suti police station area of Murshidabad districts. The officer took stock of the situation by talking to the victims and other local people of the area in the violence-affected areas and showed full sympathy with the victims and assured full security.
Shri Ravi Gandhi assured the victims that the situation will be fully controlled soon and the Border Security Force is fully committed to their safety and their needs will be taken care of in every possible way.
Mr Gandhi also met the West Bengal DGP present in the area and discussed the current situation and assured all possible cooperation from the Border Security Force to completely curb the violence and restore peace soon. Mr Gandhi also met other senior administrative and police officials during the tour to ensure better mutual coordination and cooperation. He also met the BSF jawans deployed in the violence-hit area to maintain law and order since the violence broke out and praised them for living up to the trust of the people. He appreciated their efforts to control the volatile situation to a great extent and boosted their morale.
The officer also visited the border areas of both the districts having international border with Bangladesh and took stock of the security arrangements and gave necessary instructions for complete vigilance and alertness. In view of the current situation in Murshidabad district, Mr Gandhi appeared very serious to ensure tight security of the international border and cautioned officials against any laxity. Other senior officers of the Border Security Force accompanied him on the tour and apprised Mr Gandhi of the arrangements made to keep the international border area completely safe.
While interacting with the media during the visit, Shri Gandhi reiterated the full commitment of the Border Security Force towards early restoration of peace and full cooperation to the administration and police in this direction.
Through this visit, ADG Shri Ravi Gandhi gave a clear message that the BSF will provide all possible help to the civil administration and police to restore peace soon. He clarified that the safety of citizens is of top priority and any kind of negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. By visiting the border areas of both the districts having international border with Bangladesh, he has also worked to stop any nefarious attempt and intention to take advantage of the current situation.
