EASTERN RAILWAY PLANS TO RUN NEARLY 100 HOLI SPECIAL TRAINS
Kolkata, February 05, 2026:
To manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Holi festival, Indian Railways has arranged special train services in multiple directions. In this connection, Eastern Railway has planned to run 94 trips of Holi Special trains this year to facilitate smooth travel for passengers visiting their native places, reuniting with family members, celebrating the festival, and travelling to important pilgrimage destinations such as Puri.
Out of these 94 trips of Holi special trains are planned to run by Eastern Railway, 10 trips will run between the Kolkata & Raxaul (via Barauni), 08 trips between the Kolkata & Madhubani (via Barauni), 20 trips between the Kolkata & Gorakhpur (via Patna), 08 trips between Howrah & Anand Vihar (via Jhajha–Kiul–Gaya), 08 trips between Howrah & Khatipura (via Jhajha–Kiul–Gaya), 02 trips between Kolkata & New Jalpaiguri, 08 trips will run between Sealdah and Puri. Further, 06 trips are planned between Asansol & Gorakhpur (via Patna), 08 trips between Malda Town & Anand Vihar (via Jhajha–Kiul–Gaya), 08 trips between Malda Town & Udhana (via Kiul–Gaya) and 08 trips between Malda & Mumbai (via Kiul–Patna).
These special services are expected to significantly ease Holi rush and provide convenient travel options for passengers, including devotees wishing to celebrate the festival at prominent pilgrimage centres.
Eastern Railway will closely monitor passenger demand and is prepared to run additional Holi Special trains on specific routes if required.
