St. Augustine’s Day School Completes 56 Glorious Years, Moves to New Central Kolkata Campus

St. Augustine’s Day School has celebrated 56 years of academic excellence and institutional legacy while entering a new phase of growth with the relocation of its campus to 40A, J.C. Bose Road, Kolkata. The centrally located campus is expected to offer improved accessibility, upgraded infrastructure, and enhanced facilities for students and parents.
Affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) up to Class XII, the institution has built a strong reputation over the decades for its emphasis on academic excellence, discipline, innovation, and inclusive education. The school continues to focus on value-based learning and holistic personality development aimed at nurturing responsible and confident future citizens.
Principal Dr. Richard Gasper stated that the institution remains committed to continuously raising academic standards while maintaining a disciplined, supportive, and inspiring environment for students. According to him, the school believes that education should balance academic rigor with emotional well-being, creativity, and character building.
The school also places strong emphasis on Yoga, Games, and Sports as essential elements of overall development. Treasurer Mrs. Esther Gasper highlighted the importance of Self-Defence training, saying it helps students develop confidence, discipline, awareness, and practical life skills from an early stage.
Keeping pace with evolving educational trends, the Pre-Primary section follows activity-based and innovative teaching methods. The institution is also preparing to introduce Artificial Intelligence and Robotics into its curriculum, with the aim of equipping students with modern technological skills and preparing them for future global opportunities.
One of the institution’s distinctive features is its focus on leadership development and nation-building through NCC and Air Force training programmes, which encourage discipline, patriotism, teamwork, and leadership qualities among students.
Headmaster Mr. Jason Hardy said the school’s primary goal is to ensure “stress-free learning,” making education engaging, meaningful, and student-friendly. In another progressive initiative, foreign languages have also been introduced within the ICSE curriculum to broaden students’ global perspective and communication abilities.
The institution additionally operates a dedicated National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) section, offering flexible learning opportunities for students from diverse educational backgrounds.
