Russia Day 2026: President Vladimir Putin Presents Hero of Labour Medals and National Awards
Moscow, June 12: Russian President Vladimir Putin presented the Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation medals and the 2025 Russian Federation National Awards during a ceremony held at the Grand Kremlin Palace on the occasion of Russia Day.
The awards recognized outstanding contributions in science and technology, literature and the arts, humanitarian activities, human rights, charity, industry, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and education.
In his address, President Putin described patriotism, solidarity, and responsibility toward the nation as the values that have shaped Russia throughout its history. He congratulated the awardees and said their dedication and perseverance reflected the spirit of service to the country.
Among those honoured with the Hero of Labour title were industrial leader Alexander Batalin, space technology specialist Leonid Bobe, mining professional Vladimir Danilov, agricultural expert Alexander Kolesnichenko, acclaimed actress Marina Neyolova, bridge construction executive Nikolai Russu, master craftsman Anatoly Sviridov, and renowned weapons designer Pyotr Serdyukov.
The National Award for Humanitarian Activities was presented to Viktor Sadovnichy, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, in recognition of his long-standing contribution to higher education and scientific development.
Scientists, neurosurgeons, energy researchers, documentary filmmakers, and cultural figures were also honoured for their achievements, while awards for charity and human rights were presented to Alexei Zarov and Tatyana Moskalkova, respectively.
Concluding the ceremony, President Putin encouraged young people to pursue their dreams and discover meaningful careers, stating that society and the state should help future generations realize their potential. He wished the nation a happy Russia Day, expressing confidence in the country’s future.
