Trinamool stages dharna in Parliament in solidarity with Dalits

Trinamool MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha today held a dharna near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue inside Parliament premises against the rising incidents of atrocities against Dalits.

The MPs raised slogans condemning the atrocities on Dalits. They carried posters saying:

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had tweeted on Monday appealing for peace. She said, “We are shocked and pained that some of my Dalit brothers and sisters have been killed and injured. We support their cause. I appeal for peace.”
