Commerce and Industry Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, UK, in New Delhi today.

During the meeting, both the leaders discussed issues of mutual interest. Both sides expressed hope to take proactive steps to deepen their ties and engagement in near future. Several issues related to bilateral trade and investment were discussed.

Commerce Minister said that we are happy to engage with UK to talk about trade in goods & services & investments. She said post Brexit, FTA with UK will be a fresh exercise & work on FTA with EU will continue with a re-calibarted approach .Smt. Sitharaman said we have invited Chief negotiator from UK’s side to engage with our Chief negotiator to take forward the entire process.
