The state tourism department is taking several measures to promote Bengal tourism across the country. The department has coined a new slogan ‘Experience Bengal: The Sweetest part of India’.

Recently the State Tourism department has conducted road shows in Hyderabad, Delhi, Chandigarh and Jaipur, all of which have been hugely successful.

State Tourism minister Gautam Deb said that is the vision of Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to showcase the Biswa Bangla brand all over the world and to promote the richness of Bengali culture. To fulfill that vision these roadshows were held in various cities to familiarise people from other States about Bengal.

The State Tourism Department has now targeted the small cities besides cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore.  A survey says the number of tourists from these cities are much larger than the big five cities combined.
