Kolkata, March 21, 2023 :

A good news for the commuters of C – Kalyani section of Sealdah Division. Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS)/Eastern Circle, after conducting speed trial and other checks, has given authorization for opening of newly constructed 3rd Line (Reversible Line) from Naihati station to Kalyani station in Sealdah – Ranaghat section of Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway for passenger service.

This 3rd Line (Reversible Line) section is also provided with automatic signalling for higher capacity and ease of traffic movement. The newly commissioned 3rd Line will help in increase in the sectional speed and also additional traffic requirements with the ever-busy suburban section of Sealdah Division.

As we are all aware that, Kalyani has its importance due to the presence of educational and agricultural universities & a big healthcare hub like AIIMS. This additional traffic capacity which is created by 3rd line (Reversible Line) will be of immense benefit for the passengers.

Shri Arun Arora, General Manager/Eastern Railway has appreciated and expressed his happiness that the desire of the people of Sealdah – Ranaghat section, one of the busiest suburban sections, is now being fulfilled.
