After the overwhelming success of their Dum Dum outlet, Oodles Noodles – from the stable of Aditya Group, which includes Babumasai , Baraf and Last Metro, rolled out its second edition – a 1600 sq. ft , 60 cover joint, at Garia.
The resplendent red and overhanging Chinese fans and lanterns makes it seem like a dine-den in Tangra. And all of it including the wallpaper, furniture is hand-picked by Roshni Dhir, MD of the group, as is the menu.
“The idea was to open an authentic Chinese restaurant which was lacking in this area and also there were many patrons from this area who traveled to our Dum Dum outlet and requested us to situate one here too”, explained, Roshni.
Incidentally this is the very first authentic Chinese restaurant Aditya Group, – rest being multi-cuisine formats and for that they have hired Head Chef, Nepal Chapdar who has heaps of working experience in China.
Being a boutique place, the menu items are restricted to 100 so that “we can have complete control over the food we prepare”, said Roshni. She also mentioned that the total menu will be completely overhauled each year.
Repeat visiting will surely be elicited by Smoked Chicken, Kungpao kai (Chicken), Sliced lamb in black pepper Sauce, Sea-food wangton soup, Braised Black mushroom and bamboo shoots, Singapore fish, Butter Garlic Steam Prawn and variety of Chef’s specials. One can also order half-portions for side dishes and ask for a chopstick-Chinese eating etiquette demo here.
Affordable by the middle class, pocket pinch for two is: 500 INR.
They have plans to first go pan-India and then International – supposedly has settled on a property in Manchester.
