Canadian International School Celebrates International Oneness With a Multicultural Day
BANGALORE, February 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ —
Canadian International School (CIS) organized a Multicultural Day to celebrate different cultures at the school. There were various fun-filled activities that gave an insight into the diverse population of the CIS community. Over 800 people from 60 different nationalities gathered at the event for a truly ‘multicultural’ experience. The aim was to commemorate multiculturalism and celebrate diversity and international oneness.
Over 20 stalls representing various countries were organized at the event. The stalls showcased the culture, tradition, music, and food of the respective countries. It was a vibrant display of cultures and colors, with participants proudly displaying their heritage by donning traditional costumes and performing their local songs and dances. The School Community Association (SCA) also organized a soccer tournament that saw numerous participants from throughout the CIS community.
“It’s a great initiative for children to learn about various cultures and communities,” shared a parent.
“Multicultural Day is our signature event at CIS. We are all about unity in diversity and this event is a great platform that showcases our different cultures,” said Shweta Sastri, Executive Director, Canadian International School.
“Multicultural Day is one of the most important events at CIS. It’s a great way for the entire community to come together, share, and celebrate the cultural diversity at CIS,” shared Ms Anindita, parent and SCA Co-chair. “This year’s Multicultural Day had over 20 country stalls and almost 800 people participating in various performances. I believe this event displays the true spirit of our community and this is what makes our CIS community so special. It will always remain my favorite event of the year,” Anindita added.
