Central HRD Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar’s Meet the Press at Kolkata press club on the occasion of four years completion of Modi Government was a full house show of West Bengal Media.

When the minister was counting the great work bestowed by “Modi Sarkar” many raised concern over many issues.

All Indian Reporter’s Association (AIRA) West Bengal General Secretary Shri Suman Munshi raised voice for the well being of the media personnel working on the ground. 

He told “Sir, the people who are working 24X7 for the news and covering the entire country despite of many odds where is the security and safety at work. Journalists are beaten, molested and harassed even murdered on the job. Where is the security of the fourth pillar of democracy? Even FIRs are not accepted on time, sometimes falls case registered against them. We need an environment to work and support from all government bodies”.

On record, HRD minister said, “I condemn such act of violence with media”. He also assured that government will look into such cases with utmost priority.

Later Shri Suman Munshi, General Secretary, All Indian Reporter’s Association (AIRA), West Bengal State Committee told our organization working towards unity of the media and betterment in all aspect for media personnel. He also told ours is the nationwide organization for media. Our state President Bishnu Chandra Pal has made it a point that whenever and where ever possible raise the voice for our member’s cause.
