After the grand success of first edition of “Ahare Bangla 2015” the government of West Bengal is organizing Ahare Bangla 2016 from 21st to 25th October at Milan Mela, Kolkata.
Minister Subrata Mukherjee for Panchayat and Rural Development and PHE Departments inaugurated to day this grand festival of Food and Bengali Culture with august presence of Environmental departments , Shri Shobhandeb Chattopadhay, Hon’ble MIC, Power and NES Department, Shri Swapan Debnath, Hon’ble MoS, Animal Resource Department Festival will continue up to 25th October from 12:00 Noon to 9:00 pm every Day.
The event has been conceived to give a platform to the unique and exotic agricultural produces that our farmers grow or have introduced in their farms of late. The objective is to popularize this food ingredients so they make their into the Daily Platter of Bengali food. The opportunity is also used to recall some of the lost Bengali recipes.
A total sit-in dining capacity of 2500 People(Approx.) at a time has been created. For Inauguration Ceremony & Daily Cultural Programmes a separate Hanger has been made having sitting capacity of 660 persons.All four permanent Hangers will be utilized as Food courts. Out of the four hangers one will be dedicated as International Food.In the International pavilion there will be 7 Medium food stalls.A special zone with 7 food stalls will be made and known as the ‘Theme Zone’each day this zone will have a different food menu.
Russia, Bangladesh Bhutan also came to this lively and cultural event, told be the biggest food event in West Bengal.
