One of the landmark in Indian Press history The Statesman newspaper head quater Statesman House at Chouringee Area of Kolkata got fire arroung 9:50pm IST.
it was fourth floor Server room which got the fire. Initially five fire fighting engine deployed latter three additional joined the action.
Newly appointed minister and Kolkata Mayor Mr. Sovan Chatteree rushed to the location to monitor the situation.
It has been anticipated that short circuit in electrical systems might be the cause of fire.
A details investigation has been ordered to ascertain the cause.
It is reported that by the time of reporting fire is under control. No human casualty reported as of now as per Mayor of Kolkata.
