Bengal Govt takes initiative to link rural artisans to international markets
The Bengal Self-Help Groups Department has taken an initiative to link artisans from rural parts of Bengal to international markets to let them sell their produce at the right price. This would help them come out of financial estrangement.
The State’s Self-Help Groups and Consumer Affairs Minister said that to fulfil Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s dream of transforming Bengal into ‘Biswa Bangla’, it is absolutely necessary to enable the State’s artisans to sell their goods in international markets. This will enable them to earn good money, making them self-reliant, and will also bring global recognition for Bengal’s handicrafts.

গ্রামবাংলার হস্তশিল্পীরা যাতে বিদেশের বাজারে নিজেদের তৈরী বস্তু সঠিক দামে বিক্রি করতে পারেন, সেই সুযোগ তৈরী করার উদ্যোগ নিল রাজ্য সরকার। স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠী বিষয়ক দপ্তরের এই উদ্যোগে রাজ্যের হস্তশিল্পীরা আর্থিকভাবে লাভবান হবেন।
স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠী বিষয়ক ও ক্রেতা সুরক্ষা দপ্তরের ভারপ্রাপ্ত মন্ত্রীর বক্তব্য, মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ‘বিশ্ব বাংলার’ স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়িত করতে রাজ্যের হস্তশিল্পীদের কাজ বিদেশের বাজারে তুলে ধরা আবশ্যক। এতে শিল্পীরাও আর্থিক ভাবে নিজের পায়ে দাঁড়াতে পারবেন, এবং বাংলার হস্তশিল্প পুরো বিশ্বে সমাদৃত হবে।
