Inauguration ceremony of “World Honey Bee Day 2017” at Kolkata was a colorful representation of the producer to consumer from all walks of life.
This is an event targeting to promote and to create awareness about Bee keeping as a great career option for rural Bengal. Honorable Minister in charge of the department Mr. Abdur Rejjak Molla inaugurated the celebration.
While Mr. Subrata Mukherjee, Honorable Minister in charge of PHE & Panchayet was the chief guest of the function. Ms. Nandini Chakraborty, Hon. Secretary of the department also graced the function.
Prabir Kumar Garain,Scientist (Plant Protection) & Principal Investigator, AICRP (HB &P) Ramkrishna Ashram Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nimpith set the mood of the morning by an in depth presentation on importance of Honey Bee in life cycle of the nature.
Minister Subrata Mukherjee extended his department support for Honey Bee Keeping and associated functions and called Mr. Rezzak Mollah minister in charge Food Processing and Horticulture for ant departmental help.
Mr. Mollah was prompt to say yes for this association. In his lecture he showed why people call him son of the soil in Sunderban area.
This is the first time World Honey Bee Day celebrated in Bengal and perhaps India.
