Mamata Banerjee slams Centre over attempt to shift DVC HQ

Launching a scathing attack at the Centre, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticised the attempt of shifting the headquarters of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) from Bengal.

It may be mentioned that an attempt has been made to shift the headquarters of DVC from Kolkata to Jharkhand. There is a plan to set up the new headquarters at Ranchi.

While leaving Nabanna on Monday evening, the Chief Minister said: “It is a conspiracy against the state to shift the headquarters. Chief Secretary Malay De will be writing a letter (to the Centre) strongly condemning the move.”

“The step has been taken to deprive the state and similar letters were written by the state government to the Centre for other companies, including Burn Standard Company,” she said.

ডিভিসি সদর দন্তর সরিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়ায় ক্ষুব্ধ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

কলকাতা থেকে ডিভিসি সদর দন্তর সরিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়ার ‘চক্রান্তে ’ ক্ষুব্ধ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়৷

সোমবার সন্ধ্যায় নবান্নে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন , ‘রাজ্যকে জানানো না -হলেও আমরা আমাদের সূত্রে খবর পেয়েছি যে কলকাতা থেকে ডিভিসির সদর দন্তর সরিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়ার একটা বড় ধরনের চক্রান্ত শুরু হয়েছে৷ এটা মেনে নেওয়া যায় না৷ এটার বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ জানিয়ে কড়া ভাষায় একটি চিঠি লিখতে মুখ্যসচিবকে বলা হয়েছে৷ ’

এই প্রসঙ্গে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কেন্দ্রীয় ‘অমানবিক ’ দৃষ্টিভঙ্গির বিরুদ্ধেও সরব হন৷ তাঁর অভিযোগ , এই ধরনের চক্রান্তের জেরে বহু মানুষের অন্ন সংস্থানের পথ বন্ধ হয়৷

তিনি বলেন , ‘রাজ্য সরকার কখনও এই ধরনের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি নিয়ে চলে না৷ আমরা কখনও পুরোনো শ্রমিক -কর্মচারীদের কখনও বরখাস্ত করি না৷ এমনকী , কোনও দন্তর বা বিভাগের পুনর্বিন্যাস করলেও সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মীদের অন্যত্র মোতায়েন করি৷ মানুষের পেটে লাথি মারাটা কখনই ঠিক নয়৷ ’

শুধু অবশ্য ডিভিসি নয় , বার্ন স্টান্ডার্ড ও অ্যালয় স্টিলের মতো সংস্থাগুলিও কেন্দ্রীয় চক্রান্তের শিকার বলেও এ দিন মন্তব্য করেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়৷ তিনি জানান , এগুলির প্রতিবাদেও কেন্দ্রকে রাজ্যের তরফে চিঠি দেওয়া হয়েছে৷
